"Working Through a Virus" - 2020
This short film explores the life of 59-year-old essential worker Kathleen at the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Brooklyn, NY. While many of New York City's residents were trying their best to stay safe and at home, Kathleen, a food school worker for the Board of Education, went out every day to feed children and adults who would otherwise go hungry. Like many other essential workers, Kathleen put herself at risk despite not having the proper protective gear to stay safe from the virus. Kathleen's story is told through the lens of her daughter. - Filmed and edited by Keya Maiorana.
